Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve 2004
Napa Valley, California, United StatesMature wine drinkers will know the long history of Beringer's PR cabernet and its mix source of sites including Steinhauer Ranch (42%), St. Helena Home Ranch (18%), Bancroft Ranch (15%), Marston Vineyard (11%), Chabot (3%), Rancho del Oso (3%) and Lampyridae (2%). It also contains six per cent cabernet franc from Bancroft Ranch. The '04 is super rich and as always unctuous in style with its big black cassis fruit and spicy, jammy blackberry flavours. Glossy and slippery best describes its texture that precedes a long finish marked with more cassis and cocoa. A very fine bottle with a medium to long future.
