Water Wheel Memsie Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec 2007

Bendigo, Victoria, AustraliaThe Memsie is a blend of shiraz (70), cabernet sauvignon (16), malbec (6) and petit verdot (6) planted on clay and limestone. Its mix of micro-oxygenated fruit and fruit aged in American oak. Smoky herbal black currant fruit with bits of raspberry dominate the nose while the palate is rich in licorice and savoury dark flavour. Like most of its kin the wine is warm and showing some acid poking through the back end. It really needs to be served with grilled meat - lamb chops, or spaghetti Bolognese.Tasted: 25 April 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
