E. Guigal Saint Joseph 2005
Saint Joseph, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceMade from 100 per cent syrah fruit, both owned and purchased, from vines that are 20 to 50 years old grown over limestone, sand and pebbles. The wine is aged 16 months in second year oak. The nose is open and rich with an intense red fruit nose. The palate is bright with firm acidity and mineral floral notes. The fruit mixes raspberry and earth notes into along dry savoury finish. Philippe Guigal is passionate about St. Joseph and is determined to make something of the this under recognised appellation.Tasted: 13 April 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $39.95 | 750ml | specialty |
