Highland Estate Trace Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Knights Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesTrace Ridge comes off the beige and blonde volcanic soils of Kellogg Vineyard some 400 - 1000 feet above sea level in Knights Valley. Trace is a mix of spicy florals and with bits of coffee and blackberry fruit streaked with young wood and vanilla. The tannins are chalky and substantial but rounder the style more voluptuous than Hawkeye. The fruit is blend of mountainside blocks aged in 99 per cent French oak which a little over one third is new.
