Quarles Harris Vintage Port 1980
Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalQuarles Harris was acquired by Warre & Co in the 18th Century and subsequently by the Symington family in the 1920s. Considered to be on the dry side of the port spectrum Quarles Harris often represents good value. The 1980 is more of a curiosity at this point despite its fine almost dark red opaque colour. Look for tarry, figgy, liquorice notes on the nose and palate with bits of date. The finish is dry and savoury and now a bit on the short side. Starting to slide and needs drinking.Tasted: 07 December 2008Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $180.00 | 750ml | Liberty Wines British Columbia |
