Gould Campbell Vintage Port 1997
Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalAt 11 years of age this port is just beginning got settle in and show its stuff. The color is still dark, the nose: tarry with bits of liquorice and sweet baked sweet fruit with bits of cocoa. The entry is spicy but elegant, ripe and round with nice acidity. Rupert Symington describes it as a big blackstrap port just beginning its life. More "Dow" style here and fermented dry. Drink or hold for decades.
