Ridge Santa Cruz Mountain Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Santa Cruz Mountains, San Francisco Bay, California, United StatesWow, what a slick wine. Look for a peppery, licorice root, black berry, cassis, tobacco, resin nose with bits of mocha and saddle leather. The palate is dry and elegant, the tannins firm but light. The 58/42 mix of cabernet and merlot offers ripe black cherry, peppery, tobacco and black olive notes flecked with vanilla, coriander and coffee. Fine structure and acidity with a floral mineral undertone in the finish. Fine value and worth laying away for three to five years.Tasted: 03 September 2008Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $49.99 | 750ml | specialty listing |
