De Martino El León Carignan 2006
Maule, Valle del Claro, Valle del Maule, Region del Valle Central, ChileWe don't see a lot of carignan from Chile (most is used for blending) but this wine suggests we should see more of the Chilean version. The vineyard is dry-farmed over granitic soils; the vines are over 60 years old. We love the bright juicy acidity of this spicy, black cherry flavoured red with a fine skeleton underneath. Again more fine floral aspects and minerality make it a joy to taste and even better with food.Tasted: 08 May 2008Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $30.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Whitefish Group |
