Kendall-Jackson Meritage Grand Reserve 2005

Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe '05 GR Meritage opens with a big vanilla and toasted oak nose that draws you into the glass. The entry is similarly attractive with round edges but once on the palate the attack is a bit tougher with firm tannins and dry leathery notes. The blend is 57/29/14 cabernet sauvignon /merlot /cabernet franc and it's all aged in 50/50 new and old French oak for 14 months. Not as harmonious as it could be at this stage but it will improve in the bottle for over the next three to five years.Tasted: 02 December 2007Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
