Arroyo Seco, Monterey County, Central Coast, California, United StatesA unique chardonnay made with a blend of the muscat/gewürztraminer, spice-like, Rued clone and the very aromatic floral Dijon 76 clone along with bits of 4, Z and 809. It spends about 8 months in 55 per cent new French oak. As you might expect the wine is highly aromatic, a trait that combines well with its creamy viscosity and slightly oily texture. The flavours tend toward baked apple and spicy butterscotch with a squeeze of ginger and honey.
