Contempo Nero d'Avola 2004

Sicily, ItalyThe Contempo series is focused on the traditional Sicilian varieties like this néro d'Avola. Another soft fresh red that spends only three months in barrique to smooth out the edges. The vines sit from 820' to 1,640' above sea level where the latitude surely contributes to the fresh character. Made for food this soft earthy, licorice flavoured red delivers from front to back on the palate.Tasted: 12 December 2007Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
