Hermitage, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FrancePeppery, smoky, meaty, floral, cedar, chocolate, saddle leather, spicy cardamom nose with black cherry and plum fruit. Round, dry, lightly tannic palate with fresh acidity and warm. Cherry, plum, mineral, licorice, coffee, smoky resin, tobacco leaf flavours and a light herbal, garrigue finish. Good finesse and fruit but still a bit youthful and nervy.
