Laurel Glen Reds 2004

California, United StatesLaurel Glen Reds is what California wine should be about. Hedonistic, rich round soft and tasty, neither complicated nor over-extracted it is a pleasure to drink. Old vines make up this Mediterranean-style blend that mixes zinfandel (60%), carignane (30%) and petite syrah (10%). A bookend (at least in the B.C. market) to Washington State's, House Wine. Look for a big earthy red packed with dark cherry fruit and chunky, if soft tannins. The finish is splashed with spice and vanilla. Fine value here for a wine that will have wide appeal.Tasted: 21 October 2007Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
