Alto Rouge 2003
Stellenbosch, Coastal Region, South AfricaThey have been making this wine at altitude (500 metres) in Stellenbosch since 1919. The nose is clean if slightly volatile, with a complex earth, fruit and French oak scent. The style is medium-bodied and all is in balance. Tobacco smoky earth and chocolate dominate the palate with a sprig of rosemary in the finish. Drink up with red meats and roasted or grilled.
