Rocca delle Macie Chianti Classico Riserva 2003
Florence, Tuscany, ItalyLove this '03 Riserva (sangiovese with cabernet sauvignon and merlot) with its peppery, black cherry jam, smoky, meaty, floral, coriander nose - very aromatic, very sangiovese. Ripe, round, supple but a bit tight on the palate. The flavours mix chocolate, tobacco and cherry, floral notes with a warm, smoky finish. Fine intensity but needs a year or two to fully integrate.
