Primovolo 2001
ItalyPrimovolo is a collaboration of three wine producers from three regions using three grapes. Sangiovese from Rocca in Tuscany, barbera from Villa Giada in Piedmont and merlot from La Montecchia in Veneto each vinified and aged separately in French barrique for 12 months before blending. Look for peppery, spicy, meaty, smoky, ash, licorice, vanilla, cherry and tobacco aromas. Its ripe and full but dry with good acidity balance. The entry is warm with smoky, cherry, meaty, minty, licorice, floral, resin, waxy flavours. Long and full with good intensity, will improve over the next 2-4 years.Tasted: 10 May 2007Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:BC | $50.10 | 750ml | speculative - Saverio Schiralli |
