Borgo Conventi Collio Sauvignon 2006

Farra d'Isonzo, Gorizia, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, ItalyThe Borgo Conventi estate was founded in 1975 near the small town of Farra d'Isonzo in Friuli's Collio area. Ruffino purchased the home to this lip smacking super fresh sauvignon blanc in 2001. The aromas and flavours mix grapefruit and bell pepper with flecks of grass and a touch of aromatic northern Italian herbs. Elegant stylish and highly drinkable with food. One of the very best Italian sauvignons that I have tasted. The folks at Ruffino who now own the estate say the Friuli Sauvignon was imported from France but has been present in Friuli for decades, particularly in the Collio area.
