Castaño Hécula 2004
Yecla, Valencia and Murcia, SpainAnother solid effort from Daniel Castaño. The entry is rich with ripe fruity notes of plum and black licorice that filter across the palate mixing with smoke, tobacco and spicy, boysenberry fruit. The finish is just a touch dry with some grip-y tannins but these will melt away in six months or alongside any grilled meat dish. Warm but balanced and once again flavourful. Yum 100 per cent older vine monastrell at a fair price.Tasted: 11 January 2007Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $15.99 | 750ml | specialty listing |
