Hawthorne Mountain Cabernet Franc 2004
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Hawthorne franc mixes mocha, orange spice, black olive and cherry cigar aromas on the nose. The entry is dry and smooth with plenty of smoky, tobacco, cranberry and black raspberry fruit flavours with a savoury, tobacco undercurrent. More oak than fruit with a spicy dry resiny finish. Needs a bit of time in the bottle or serve around the barbecue. The price is fair.Tasted: 08 October 2006Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $15.49 | 750ml | specialty listing, vqa and private wine shops |
