Gratavinum GV5 2003

Priorato, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainGV5 is a powerful red wine that speaks to the reputation of Priorat. Fragrant fresh and brimming with minerality it excites the senses. The blend is a five mix of 40 per cent garnacha, 27 per cent cariñena, 13 per cent cabernet sauvignon, 13 per cent syrah and 7 per cent merlot. The colour is deep. The nose an enticing mix of flowers and black fruits. Big and powerful on the palate the tannins are firm and ripe. Less than 5000 bottles are made in any one year. Spanish wine is alive and well.Tasted: 11 October 2006Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
