Gratavinum 2πR 2004

Priorato, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainGratavinum is the Priorat project of the Cusiné family of Pares Baltà fame. Two wines have been produced, 2 Pi r and GV5. The idea behind 2 Pi r is to create a soft, early-drinking version of the traditional power house Priorat red. If you recall 2 Pi r is the formula to calculate the circumference of a circle and the wine is supposed to reflect that perfect roundness. The blend is 35/34/21/10 cariñena/garnacha/ cabernet sauvignon/merlot. This intense, fruity, red with big black jammy fruit notes offers freshness and mineral flecks throughout with fine weight and slippery tannins.
