Torres Celeste 2003

Ribera del Duero, Castilla-Leon, SpainProduction is lowly creeping up to 20,000 cases as Celeste begins to hit its stride. Torres in Ribera de Duero has given us a slightly brawnier red wine than you see in Priorat or Penedès. This is just a baby but it's showing meaty, black cherry, tobacco, briary, smoky chocolate aromas. The flavours are earthy and understated with coffee, garrigue, cherry and tobacco undercurrents. Dry, elegant and warm it needs time but you could drink it now with roasted lamb. It is 100 percent tinto fino or Ribera tempranillo.
