Mendoza, ArgentinaBlending different clones and individual lots of wine has given the Catena malbec a stronger more sophisticated base of flavours. The assemblage of small berried fruit and three vineyards gives this malbec a depth that belies its price. We like the low level of new oak (under 25 per cent) because it lets the bright fruit show throughout the wine. The textures are soft and rich the flavours a mix of black cherry, plums and a twist of orange and garrigue. Fine length and balance.
