Domaine Faiveley Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru 2003
Côtes de Nuits, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceOpen rich smoky, meaty nose with black cherry, vanilla, tealeaf, barnyard notes. Rich, round, elegant but dry entry with ripe, slightly chewy tannins. Smoky, vanilla, spicy, leather, tobacco, black cherry, five-spice, orange peel flavours. Quite muscular and dry for Mazis, this one is starting to tighten up, much like many of the 2002's. Needs to be put away for at least 5 years but will improve for perhaps 10 years. Stay tuned.Tasted: 14 March 2006Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $204.90 | 750ml | speculative listing - Winspeer |
