Carmen Wine Maker's Reserve Chardonnay 2004

Valle de Casablanca, Region de Aconcagua, ChileButter, mineral, floral, white peach, nectarine, nutty lees with a waxy, sweaty grapefruit note. Round, fresh, dry palate. Smoky lees, green apple, vanilla, citrus, butter, chalky mineral flavours. Very cool, leaner style with some nutty, roundness and elegance. Like Russian River/Chalk Hill chardonnay. The style is changing for the better with only 45 per cent of the fruit getting French wood contact with one and two year old barrels and no malolactic fermentation.Tasted: 10 March 2006Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
