Amayna Chardonnay 2003
Valle de Leyda, Valle de San Antonio, Region de Aconcagua, ChileFrom Leyda, San Antonio an up and coming region in Chile we get an intense grapefruit/star fruit nose with honey and a waxy, orange flower, butter, anise, garlic lees note streaked with artichoke. On the palate the textures are ripe and round but with elegance. Look for ripe grapefruit, pineapple, butter, vanilla, baked apple flavours with a floral, crème brûlée lees and papaya finish. Very fine. Long and balanced but not heavy. Unique and very Leyda. Well done and ready-to-drink.Tasted: 17 February 2006Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $37.50 | 750ml | private wine shops |
