Pacific Rim Riesling 2003
Washington, United StatesThis may be the best Pac Rim Riesling yet from Bonny Doon obviously the fruit is benefiting from its sexy looking, pink screwcap closure. Not only does Bonny Doon get the screwcap concept; they get design too - these caps look great but I digress. I love the nose it actually reminds me a bit of Ernie Loosen's Washington riesling Eroica. The added Mosel juice from the hyper ripe 2003 vintage gives the '03 Pac Rim a new look with more peachy fruit and a richer honey clover character that is in many of the Mosel rieslings we tasted this year.
