Jim Barry The Cover Drive Coonwarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2003
Coonawarra, South Australia, AustraliaJim Barry purchased the old Penola cricket grounds in 1996 and planted a 30-acre cabernet sauvignon that provides the majority of fruit for The Cover Drive. It's cool-climate cabernet as evidence by the minty herbal cedar/cigar box notes on the nose. On the palate, it is smooth and fragrant with floral eucalyptus scented fruit and a spicy briary finish. A touch of Clare fruit flushes out the back palate. Fine quality for the price and should improve over the next three years.Tasted: 06 November 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $27.99 | 750ml | specialty |
