G. H. Mumm & Cie Brut Grand Cru NV

Champagne, FranceOf the 302 cru vineyards in AOC Champagne 43 are rated Premier Cru, but only 17 are classified Grand Cru ― the finest cuvĂ©es. Of the 17, Mumm has selected the best five that have always been the basis of its blends. Mumm Grand Cru is a blend of five major 100 per cent Grands Crus mixing 58% Pinot Noir from Bouzy, Verzenay and Ay and 42% Chardonnay from Avize and Cramant. Tiny, continuous mousse. Very toasty, brioche, nutty, creamy, citrus aromas with a hint of mineral, anise and green apple skin. Rich, round, dry and crisp with very nutty, creamy, mineral, baked apple, pear and raspberry flavours with a honey, green apple skin finish. Long, elegant and structured but with delicacy and verve. Should improve further in the bottle over the next few years.Tasted: 29 November 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
