Barossa Old Vine Shiraz 2002

Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaA bit disappointing for such a big ticket shiraz. The nose is very peppery, spicy mix of cedar, mint, blackberry jam, coriander and gamey aromas. Rich, round, supple, elegant palate with light, ripe tannins. Warm with peppery, vanilla pudding, cedar, licorice, coriander, black cherry jam, floral flavours. Fine intensity but the finish is quite dry with elevated acidity ― lacks a bit of lushness and bodied that you expect for the price.Tasted: 19 June 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
