Yalumba The Octavius Edition VI 1995
Barossa Valley, South Australia, AustraliaA difficult drought year in Barossa left only the oldest vines capable of making it through the year. The '95 Octavius is 100 per cent shiraz all from Barossa aged in 70 per cent new American oak. Described by winemaker Jane Ferrari as 'dragging its chain' the '95 is slipping away. Dried resiny fruit flavours without much fruit at this point and a warm spicy finish. Almost port-like with caramel flavours in the finish.
