Priorato, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainThe top wine from Alvaro, made from 80/20 garnacha and cabernet sauvignon and 16 months in new French oak. Floral, mineral, black cherry kirsch, gamey, resiny licorice, vanilla, spicy clove aromas with some black pepper bursts. Rich, round, fat style with ripe tannins but lots of grip and good acidity. Big plum, black cherry, chocolate, minty, mineral, peppery, spicy clove flavours. Balanced, dry and young with some finesse.
