Laughing Stock Vineyards Portfolio 2003
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPortfolio 2003 is a 1st vintage for Laughing Stock Vineyard. The Naramata blend is 64/33/3 merlot/cabernet sauvignon/cabernet franc aged 18 months in 40 per cent new French oak. Look for a deep black cherry color. It has a huge cherry jam, spicy, cardamom nose with earthy, tobacco leaf, gamey, black olive aromas. On the palate it is rich, round, fat and hot with peppery, spicy, chocolate pudding, cooked cherry, tobacco leaf and cranberry juice flavours. Lots of intensity and alcoholic in the finish. Needs 2-4 years to settle down. A promising first release we hope will add finesse as the vines age.Tasted: 05 April 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $35.00 | 750ml | Winery |
