Schug Pinot Noir Carneros 2002

Carneros, Sonoma County, California, United StatesTypical Carneros region pinot now complete with clonal diversity achieved by blending several separately vinified lots - each bringing its unique clonal signature to the blend. Look for a spicy, smoky, black cherry, celery root, barnyard nose with a touch of compost. Fresh, round, supple palate with nice juicy acidity. Smoky, black cherry, raspberry, compost, licorice, and carrot flavours. Smooth and balanced with nice fruit intensity and finesse and a touch of dryness. Good now but should improve over the next 2 years. Pair with lamb, duck or grilled salmon. The blend is 100 pinot noir from 27% Lund Vineyard, 22% Schug Estate, 22% Sangiacomo Vineyard, 22% Ricci Vineyard and 7% Vineburg.Tasted: 21 May 2004Tasted by: Prices:
