Poggio ai Merli di Castellare 2001
Tuscany, ItalyLook for a big spicy, chocolate, prune nose with black cherry, gamey, vanilla, Christmas cake and dry mint and sage notes. Definitely the dry Tuscan style here with grainy tannins. Big Christmas cake, orange peel, chocolate, peppery, prune, black cherry flavours mix with smoke, mint and caraway in the finish. Dry, tight style with lots of intensity - will need 3-5 years to fully develop.Tasted: 05 January 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $100.00 | 750ml | Estimated Retail |
