Gainey Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2003
Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Barbara County, Central Coast, California, United StatesThe style is fresh with mineral lemongrass and just a hint of orange peel. With 24 per cent sémillon in the mix the wine has a real citrus bent. The textures are clean the taste zippy. There's still some transitional creaminess on the mid-palate but this sauvignon is headed for the refreshing, New Zealand style at top speed. The fermentation is 45 per cent tank fermented, and 55 per cent barrel fermented and it's aged for seven months in only six per cent new oak.Tasted: 16 January 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:US | $14.00 | 750ml | Retail |
