Sonoma County, California, United StatesWith 12 per cent petite syrah in the mix the VOM syrah has a gutsy, earthy, peppery undercurrent. The fruit that comes from Preston Ranch on the western slopes of the Russian River Valley as well as Schaefer and Palo Alto vineyards both located in the Sonoma Valley, is suave and smooth. The flavours are reminiscent of mixed black fruits, pepper and toasted earth, more southern France than Australia.
