Michele Chiarlo Barolo Triumviratum 1996

Piedmont, ItalyBig tarry, smoky, peppery, cigar butt, black cherry, truffle nose with some coffee pudding underneath. Rich, dry, warm and tannic but this is a balanced, more traditional style. Lots of peppery, tarry, cigar, earth, licorice root, prune and black cherry vanilla flavours. Warm and somewhat hard on the finish, needs a good 5 years.Tasted: 04 December 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
