Firestick Chardonnay 2002

South Australia, AustraliaThe Firestick range of Poole's Rock Wines is entirely South Australian, made from grapes grown on select vineyard sites. The name is said to be inspired by one of nature's most dramatic night time performances, the animated dance of lightning strikes or 'sticks of fire' that illuminate the South Australian landscape. Look for melon, peach, baked apple, spicy butter aromas with some orange rind. It's relatively fat and round with canned grapefruit and peach, mineral, butter melon and lees flavours. There is good acidity on the finish but with a touch of sweetness. Sound if a bit commercial for the price.Tasted: 06 December 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
