Cockfighter's Ghost Shiraz 2001

McLaren Vale, South Australia, Australia2001 Cockfighter's Ghost Black Label Shiraz, the first from McLaren Vale, was voted Best Value Red Wine of Competition at the 2004 Sydney International Wine Competition ― it's a moniker that suits its Alberta price more than its British Columbia prcie tag. Still the wine is well made and from the warm '01 vintage it has intense plummy, blackberry fruit with spicy, licorice undertones. Soft smooth and rich it delivers from the front end of the palate to the back. Should easily age through 2010.Tasted: 21 December 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
