Sonoma County, California, United StatesAn abstract label adorns the '99 as painted by Canadian born artist Rolph Scarlett. Intense black pepper, resiny, sappy, cigar butt, cassis jam, saddle leather mineral aromas with some smoky garrigue notes. Rich, round, soft and fairly elegant with a touch of alcohol showing. Smooth textured with lots of chocolate, cigar butt, black olive, cassis, smoky vanilla resin flavours with a minty, brine note on the finish. Quite cool cabernet characters are evident in this edition but has very good intensity and mouthfeel.
