Peregrine Pinot Gris 2002
Central Otago, South Island, New ZealandIntense green apple, grapefruit rind, smoky, melon, passion fruit aromas with spicy, mineral streaks. Very rich, ripe and round with very intense nectarine, ripe apple, ripe kiwi, canned grapefruit flavours. Warm on the finish with nutty apple notes and almost a bit sweet but has great intensity and acidity. Super flavourful, delicious and long but not really "gris" like. In our opinion is almost more sauvignon than pinot gris like so it's a bit of a conundrum varietal-wise.Tasted: 06 August 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $39.95 | 750ml | Speculative - Empson Canada |
