Sicily, ItalyVery dark colour. Ripe cherry, plum fruit nose with coffee, pepper, game, licorice root aromas and a touch of juniper and spice. Very rich, round and smooth but quite dry with good acidity, a Planeta hallmark. Intense plum, cherry jam fruit flavours mixed with pepper, licorice, tobacco and coffee. The finish is dry with some young tannin but has good intensity and balance. Will improve over the next 1-3 years or try decanting and serving with a robust lamb dish.
