Luigi Einaudi Barolo Cannubi 2000
Dogliani, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyAn unbelievably good Barolo from the superstar cru of Cannubi. Grown at an altitude of some 220 meters at 2.2 tons/acre Cannubi is complex and luscious. Look for an open tea and saddle leather nose spiced with pepper, toasted vanilla and cherry/tar aromas. Rich concentrated and moderately tannic it remains elegant from front to back. Peppery, spicy, leather, tar, black cherry flavours with a long resiny, vanilla, smoky finish. Good acidity, excellent balance, fine stuff. Expensive but a top Barolo worth aging for 7-10 years.Tasted: 16 June 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $111.95 | 750ml | Speculative - Empson Canada |
