Lanciola Terricci Antiche Terre de' Ricci 1998

Impruneta, Florence, Tuscany, ItalyTerricci is 80/15/5 blend of sangiovese/cabernet sauvignon/cabernet franc all aged for 24 months in 90 per cent new French barriques. The wine is micro-oxygenated to help plump out the textures and smooth out the tannin. The nose is a mix of prune, sweaty game, plum, vanilla aromas with some raisin-y notes. It is big, rich, tannic and concentrated on the palate with more with meaty, cherry, prune, pepper and licorice flavours and a hot-coffee finish. A bit alcoholic and extracted so it will need some time to settle down. Wait 4 to 7 years.Tasted: 16 June 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
