Impruneta, Florence, Tuscany, ItalyFormerly divided into regular and riserva, the 2000 vintage inaugurated an entirely new, unified version of this single-vineyard blend of 95 per cent sangiovese and five per cent merlot that is micro-oxygenated and barrique-aged. Look for an aromatic peppery, gamey, chocolate, vanilla, black cherry and licorice aromas. On the palate it is rich, round and quite smooth with spicy, cherry jam, mocha, licorice and pepper flavours. Very good balanced and intensity.
