Tedeschi Capitel dei Nicalò Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2001
Pedemonte Valpolicella, Verona, Veneto, ItalyThis wine is made from grapes grown on the Moraine Hills in the heart of Valpolicella in the traditional Veronese manner: raisin-drying of the grapes in crates for one month. The effect is a partial 8-10 percent dehydration of the weight, concentrating the wine. Look for a big peppery, smoky, chocolate, cherry, tobacco and barnyard nose. Soft, round and slightly dry but elegant. Cedar bark, black cherry, and smoky tobacco flavours persist with a somewhat acidic, smooth finish. It has lots of flavour and aroma but a lighter-bodied style that will go well with pork or turkey.Tasted: 30 May 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $22.90 | 750ml | Restricted |
