Tedeschi Capitel dei Nicalò Valpolicella Classico 2001
Pedemonte Valpolicella, Verona, Veneto, ItalyThis wine is made from grapes grown on the Moraine Hills in the heart of Valpolicella in the traditional Veronese manner: raisin-drying of the grapes in crates for one month. The effect is a partial 8-10 per cent dehydration of weight concentrating the wine. Look for a big peppery, smoky, chocolate, cherry, tobacco and barnyard nose. Soft, round and slightly dry but elegant. Cedar bark, black cherry, smoky tobacco flavours that persist with a slightly acidic, smooth finish. Lots of flavour and aroma but a lighter bodied style that will go well with pork or turkey.Tasted: 30 May 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $22.90 | 750ml | Restricted |
