Rosemount Chardonnay Roxburgh 2001

Hunter, New South Wales, AustraliaThe Roxburgh Vineyard in the Upper Hunter Valley was established in 1966 on gently-sloping, rare 'terra rossa' soil, under cut with broken limestone. Today, it is home to some of the oldest chardonnay vines in Australia. Look for toasted vanilla and butter aromas with mineral, mango, citrus fruit and baked apple notes. It's round, rich and slightly oily on entry with good acidity and more toasted vanilla, mineral and crisp citrus apple flavours. Fine intensity and a welcomed leaner profile not seen in earlier editions.Tasted: 05 May 2004Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
