Sicily, ItalyPlaneta Syrah is coming in to its own in 2001. It has a huge black pepper, licorice root and roasted mulberry and coffee nose streaked with gamey, meaty aromas. Warm round and smooth it slides down easily with plenty of coffee, black berry jam, vanilla, smoky, resiny licorice flavours and a touch of tea and leather.
